For the special badgework we will be covering tomorrow night Cubs are requested to wear their Wrist watch if they have one.

If you can send a measure tape along with your cub it will also be very helpful.

We have  moved the Father’s Day Special night from 6th Sept. to 20th September.

Macquarie Univ. Museum of Ancient Cultures has kindly invited the Fathers to come with the cubs on
20th Sept. to make it a special night.

Start: 6.30pm Finish 8.30pm.

Fathers will go free on the night to the Museum only Cubs to pay.  Cost – to be advised.

Look forward to seeing all fathers with their cubs on the night. Further details to follow.

The Foot Rally will remain on the program for Monday, 6th Sept. and we will need parents to help out on the night with cubs.

Apologies for the delay in sending out term program.  You will be aware that we are heading to Homebush for a pool night tomorrow as the hyponotism night has been put back to the end of term and I was waiting for a firm date before sending out the program. The program can be downloaded from the website.

A few things to note:

1. The program highlights a number of training activities and outside programs.  Please read through them and get applications in early.  We want to encourage as many of you as possible to attend the Initiative Course on Sept 11&12 and the days out in the Blue Mountains the following weekend.
2. Next week we have Mystery Box.  The Normanhurst Group Leader Bruce Cooke will be along at the beginning of the night to talk for about 15 minutes about the World Jamboree next year.  Rachael is attending and it would be good for her to have some other people from our units attend in support.

For all cubs who will be 9 1/2 years and over in November there is a Link Camp called Cub Out they can attend. This camp is strictly for cubs who are 9 1/2 years and above only.

Cub Out camping experience is specially organised by Benowie District with the Scout section (Patrol leaders) so that cubs soon to move to Scout Section can experience camping with older Scouts and learn some skills with them.

This camp will be on the Weekend of 5-7th November and will be at Crosslands.

Further details to follow as it arrives.

Please can i request you to let me know if your cub will be going so we can forward our numbers to them.

Please find attached the list of items that your cub will be taking to the Cuboree. I am sending this list in advance so you have plenty of time to do the shopping.

The list for the Shakedown camp will be slightly different  as it is only for the weekend (one night only) – which we will send out later.

As we will be doing some compass work tomorrow night at cubs, if your cub has a compass of his own can I request him to bring it along. This will be helpful as we do not have too many of our own.

Reminder: Second instalment of Cuborree fees $110.00 is due by Monday 23rd August.

We have received information from National Wild Life and Parks Service that the Bush Care Day scheduled for end of August is now postponed to end of October. When we receive the new date with confirmation I will inform everyone about it.

Attached is the 3rd term program for scouts. This term’s theme is construction which peaks with the Pioneer & Construction course on the 20th, 21st, 22nd of August.

Also this term we are going introduce the scouts to some basic video editing and give them all a chance to make a short video about the exciting activities they will get up to this term. We will finish the term with a Movie night where we can all watch the scouts videos and a feature film.

Hope you are having a good time these holidays.  Cubs go back coming monday, 18th July.  Please find attached the new cub program for term 3.

1.  I have received information during these holidays from District leader and Region Commissioner about a few policies one of them being the Uniform Policy. Please read the information attached.

2.  All families (mums and dads) are requested to fill in the Prohibited Employment Declaration Form again so as to keep them current. I have attached a copy of that form to be filled in and handed to me.

3.  The importance of the A1 Activity Notification has been raised and discussed and we have been informed that no cub or parent will be allowed to participate in any Activity
outside the hall without  handing in the A1 form.

As mentioned earlier and also on the program for this term – Sunday, 8th August is City to Surf. Normanhurst as a group participates and is the one big fundraisier for the year.
