Dear All,

One skill that is taught at cubs is to sew a button. This does not come easy to boys and girls of cub age. We will initially do something different to give them an idea of how to sew.

Coming Monday 1st September, we will be doing some needle craft at cubs, this will require every cub to bring a good size needle with a long eye so we can thread some wool through it. Please make sure it is carefully wrapped.

Also forwarding the email from the district leader abaout the district hike, campfire coming up.

cheers

All our new chums who moved up to Cubs from Joeys this term will be invested in 2 weeks time on monday, 15th September. They are all very confidant young scouts and doing so well at cubs.

Cubs have been given the new chum card and they have to learn their Cub Scout Law and be able to say it.

I will make sure they understand the procedure and what is involved thoroughly in the next 2 weeks to make it easy and simple for them.

Cubs have to come dressed in their full uniform and their hat. I have the copies of the cub passport book which you can purchase from the group for $10.90. You may send cash or cheque (Normanhurst Scout Group) for the passport.

All parents are invited to come along and be present with your camera to make this ceremony special to each one of them. Please be there by 8.10pm.

Dear Cubs

Just a reminder for tomorrow nights fun activity.

We will be cooking pancakes on the back of a tin. Please send an empty baked beans tin and a candle (not tea light)

The tin should be open at one end and closed the other, with holes just under both the ends of a tin for the air to flow. (to create a chimney effect).

Thank you

Akela
